Go therefore and make disciples...

The Mission

The mission of Emmanuel Church is the public worship of God, to lead mankind to Christ, to build them up in holiness and usefulness by means of Christian fellowship, work and worship.

The Vision

The vision of Emmanuel Church is to impact our city, community and world with the life-changing news of the Gospel and enfold disciples into the Body of Christ through life-on-life discipleship.

Core Values

Expository Preaching
We value expository preaching because all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for our lives (II Tim. 3:16); therefore, we must hear the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27) by understanding Scripture it in its proper context (Nehemiah 8:8) and applying its timeless principles to our lives today (I Peter 1:25).

Missions
We value missions because Jesus commanded His disciples to spread the gospel throughout the world (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).

Prayer
We value prayer because it shown throughout Scripture to be essential to the Christian life (John 15:5; I Thessalonians 5:17) in that it draws on the power of God to accomplish His work (Acts 4:23-31; James 5:16).

Christian Education
We value Christian education because knowledge of the Word of God is necessary for faith in Christ (Romans 10:17; II Timothy 2:15) and the foundation of a Christian worldview (Colossians 2:3).

Caring Community
We value a caring community because of the “one-another” passages in Scripture that exhort us to “love one another” (John 13:34-35), “encourage one another” (Hebrews 10:24-25), “care for one another” (Galatians 6:2), “forgive one another” (Ephesians 4:32), “comfort one another” (I Thessalonians 4:18), “be patient with one another” (Colossians 3:13), and so much more.

Congregation-Engaged Worship
We value congregation-engaged worship because true corporate worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) occurs when the people of God are utilizing their gifts (I Corinthians 12:7) in order to edify the body (Ephesians 4:11-16) and bring glory to the Lord (I Peter 4:10-11; Hebrews 13:20-21).
