James Peterson

Lead Pastor

From an early age, James was taught the Bible and gave his life to the Lord as a child. After graduating from high school, he went to Northland Baptist Bible College to study education. There, the Lord turned his heart toward ministering in the local church and teaching and preaching the Word of God. The Lord led him and his wife, Rachel, back to Emmanuel Church in 2010 and he has been on staff since 2013. In addition to a Bachelor’s in History Education, James has a Master of Divinity from Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA.

Jeremy Sahl

Associate Pastor

Jeremy grew up on a small family farm in Galloway Township just outside of Egg Harbor City.  As the son of John Sahl, former pastor of Emmanuel, he grew up experiencing the ministry from the inside out.  By God’s grace Jeremy was saved at a young age.  Upon graduating from The Pilgrim Academy of Emmanuel Church, he attended Baptist Bible College (now called Clarks Summit University) in Clarks Summit, PA. with a B.S. in Theology with an emphasis on Youth Ministry and Pastoral Studies. His desire is to strengthen the church in its duty to actively make disciples.

Josiah Wiggins

Youth Director

Josiah was saved as a young child after hearing God’s Word preached at his younger childhood church. After graduating high school, he went to Bob Jones University to major in sports management as well as student coach for the University’s Mens Basketball Team. After graduating college, he and his wife, Jacquelynne, moved back to New Jersey where he worked for 3 years full time in youth sports and college basketball. During this time he and his wife were led back to Emmanuel Church and the youth group where they found they had a passion for youth and church ministry. They started working with the youth in 2019 and he was put on staff officially in August of 2022.

Favorite Sports Teams: North Carolina Tar Heels (College), Princeton Tigers (College), 76ers (NBA), Eagles (NFL), Phillies (MLB), Flyers (NHL), Union (MLS), Triumph (USL).
